Chasetown and Hednesford remain firmly in Northern West play-off hunt
Chasetown romped to a 4-0 victory over Kidsgrove Athletic at the Scholars Ground to strengthen their grip on the Northern West play-off spots with a third win in a row.
Kidsgrove were reduced to 10-men when Jack Langston was hauled down inside the box by goalkeeper Kieran Harrison.
Langston converted the resulting spot-kick to open the scoring in the 16th-minute as he moved on to double figures for the season in the process.
Harry Goode turned the ball into his own net to provide Chasetown with a two-goal cushion at the interval.
It took until the 90th-minute for George Cater to extend the Scholars' advantage before a fourth arrived in the form of another own goal deep into stoppage time.
Chasetown, who occupy the final play-off spot, stretched their lead over sixth-place Stalybridge Celtic to four points, while also boasting two games in hand.
Hednesford Town remain two points above Chasetown in fifth after digging deep to win 1-0 at Hanley Town and extend their unbeaten run to eight games.

Ollie Harrison scored the only goal of the contest when he towered above his marker to head home Daniel Trickett-Smith's free-kick delivery after just seven minutes.
Trickett-Smith almost doubled Hednesford's lead when his free-kick crashed off the crossbar before the Pitmen had a goal ruled out for offside on the half-hour mark.
Hednesford goalkeeper Tony Breeden preserved his clean sheet with a stunning double save to deny Sean Cooke and Tom Wakefield midway into the second half.
The Pitmen sit six points clear of the trailing pack in the race for the play-offs after making it three wins in a row ahead of their home clash against league leaders Widnes.
Stafford Rangers remain one-point clear of the drop zone after registering a fourth win in a row for the first time since 2017 with a 2-1 home success over play-off chasing Nantwich Town.
Callum King-Harmes fired Rangers in the eighth-minute after they had survived an early scare when Alex Panter hit the post for Nantwich inside the opening 60 seconds.

Byron Harrison hauled Nantwich level just before the hour-mark but Rangers were handed a prime chance to retake the lead when they were awarded a penalty with 15 minutes left.
Dan Cockerline was initially denied from the spot but was on hand to convert the rebound and secure another crucial three points.
In the Northern Midlands, Darlaston Town blew a first half lead to draw 1-1 in their Black Country derby against Lye Town at the Paycare Ground.
The hosts came agonisingly close to an opener inside the first two minutes when Lye goalkeeper Ben Newey miraculously tipped Hayden Carson's deflected header behind.
Aaron Bishop broke the deadlock with his fifth goal in three games just before the half-hour mark. Lye were unable to clear their lines from Ryan Winswood's free-kick delivery and Newey could only spill Carson's header into his goalmouth where Bishop was there to convert.
Joe Palmer calmly lobbed the onrushing Stan Amos to equalise for Lye 22 minutes from time.
Elsewhere, Sporting Khalsa were beaten 6-1 in their play-off tussle against Worcester City.
