Brocton score eight to keep faint Midland Premier Division title hopes alive

William Whieldon scored a hat-trick and Regan Smith bagged a brace, with Christian Blanchette, Connor Haddaway and Jude King also getting on the score sheet for Brocton. 

That result cut the gap behind league leaders Lichfield City to eight points, with second-place Brocton boasting a game in hand. 

Meanwhile, Tividale dropped into the relegation zone on goal difference, as Jordon Sangha, Ezekiel Agyemang and Matt Holland found the net for the visitors. 

Lichfield came from behind to draw 1-1 at Dudley Town after James Spiers scored on the cusp of half-time to cancel out Jordan Davies' opener in the fourth minute. 

AFC Wulfrunians were comfortably beaten 5-1 at Shifnal Town as they suffered a third league defeat on the bounce. 

Kyle Byrne and Jack Rowley propelled Shifnal into a two-goal lead inside 39 minutes before Nana Osuwu-Gyiman halved the deficit immediately after the restart. 

Kyle Bennett restored Shifnal's two-goal cushion in the 55th-minute and Byrne doubled his tally when he tapped home at the back post eight minutes from time. 

Samiir Abdullahi put the seal on the win deep into stoppage time to leave Wulfrunians sitting in 12th-place.

Stone Old Alleynians were also handed a 3-0 loss at home to Whitchurch Alport, after Adam Hailes opened the scoring seven minutes before the break and Callum Parker netted a quickfire double after the restart. 

Elsewhere, OJM Black County drew 1-1 at Romulus and Stourport Swifts were beaten by a resounding 5-1 score-line at home to 1874 Northwich. 

In Division One, Cradley Town climbed into the final play-off spot after cruising to a 5-0 victory at Lutterworth Athletic. 

Jordan Crump, Kane Harrold, Callum North, Taylor Homer and Traevay Wright all scored for Cradley to help them leapfrog Kirby Muxloe into fifth. 

Bilston sit six points adrift of the play-offs after falling to a 4-2 home defeat against fourth-place Leicester St Andrews. 

Goals from Ben Priest and Colin Smith propelled Bilston into a 2-1 lead at the interval but Leicester came from behind to condemn them to a first home defeat in three months.

Meanwhile, Gornal Athletic sit 14th-place after suffering a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Coventry Copsewood, with Eden Mukenge scoring both goals from the spot. 

Wednesfield extended their woeful winless run to 14 matches after losing 1-0 at Birstall United Social. 

Dom Watts scored the only goal for Birstall in the first half as Wednesfield suffered were left 12 points from safety. 

Stafford rescued a dramatic late point at Shawbury United but slipped five points behind in the North West Division One South title race. 

Dave Howells fired Shawbury ahead midway into the second half before Eshan Greer equalised in the fifth minute of second half stoppage time. 

Bewdley Town registered a third win in a row with a 2-1 home success over Newent Town in the Hellenic League Division One courtesy of goals from Mike Bridges and James Fletcher.
