The slump continues, however this one felt more avoidable than the others, which is what is causing a small, growing concern in me.

Personally, I feel letting a lead slip in the manner that we did was unacceptable, conceding so quickly after failing to clear a ball into the box, not closing down a player, and frustrations boiling over are not what Saddlers fans want to see.

They say you are most vulnerable after you score, and this proved true, not many times have we let leads go, but even a draw against Colchester would have done wonders going into what is now a massive game against Gillingham mid-week.

I don't like to criticise Sadler given the position he has put us in this season, however I must echo what a lot of the supporters have been saying about his substitutions against Colchester.

Bringing Adomah on for Matt meant we had to change our style, and it simply didn't work. I really like Adomah, and his technical ability is second to none, but he is so much more effective in a wider position creating for the strikers, and it feels like now we have depth going forward, this tactical change is no longer needed.

I really hope the players, and Sadler, use this as a learning experience, and should we get back to winning ways on Tuesday, the fans will be able to relax a little again.

The Walsall mini slump seemed to be about to end but a quick fire comeback from an improving Colchester stunned Walsall and consigned them to another defeat.

Is it time to panic, no, but what is a concern is the drop in energy. Connor Barrett and Jamie Jellis have dropped several levels, given they are young players in their first EFL season, and yesterday showed they're in need of a rest.
