A meeting with visitors Sheffield Wednesday kickstarts a crunch three-game week featuring contests against three play-off rivals - two at home.
As it stands the Owls, in 10th, trail sixth-placed Baggies by just two points. Wednesday's visitors Blackburn are one place and point better off in fifth. Millwall, where Mowbray's men head on Saturday week, are 14th but trail Albion by just four points.
So there is plenty of opportunity for the head coach to test out his boosted squad. Albion's midfield and attacking department was significantly boosted in the final days of the winter window.
One certain change will come between the sticks. Alex Palmer exited for pastures new and Mowbray is expected to call on the recalled Josh Griffiths for a chance as No.1. Deputy Joe Wildsmith will be pushing, though.
Albion should be boosted in the fitness department, too. Kyle Bartley was an unused substitute in his return to the matchday squad in Plymouth last weekend but the defence has not looked nearly as solid without the experienced stopper in it.
A return following a small muscle complaint feels likely for Bartley to continue to show his fine form from throughout the Carlos Corberan era.
Further forward and Mowbray will face a call on whether to disrupt the midfield make-up he has opted for over the last two games. A central partnership of Alex Mowatt and John Swift worked at home to Portsmouth in a rout but did less so down in Devon.
Jayson Molumby's goal from the bench last weekend felt like a statement from the Irishman, even if it did not lead to any points.
He is not alone, either. Ousmane Diakite has impressed Mowbray - and supporters - and new recruit Isaac Price has been lively in his two cameos so far.
In between the midfield and frontline is new boy Tammer Bany. The 21-year-old Dane, a £3.3million addition from Randers in his homeland, is an attacking midfielder who will be tasked with unlocking doors. He may not be turned to immediately, due to a lack of English football experience.
Bany has not played since December 1 due to a break in the Danish Superliga, so a start at this stage is unlikely.
Wingers are likely to remain Tom Fellows and Mikey Johnston but it is the front of Mowbray's side where things are really interesting.
Josh Maja and Daryl Dike are not quite ready but the unnatural recent look to Albion's centre-forwards is likely to be broken up for the visit of Danny Rohl's Owls, who have won just once in six in league and cup.
Loan pair Will Lankshear and Adam Armstrong are through the door and will be ready to make an impact.
They are at different stages of their careers. One a teen looking to prove a point to his Premier League 'big six' parent club and without much experience. The other something of a Championship veteran at 27 and a goal-grabbing extraordinaire.
It already feels like a big call for Mowbray not to select Armstrong. He has featured plenty for Southampton this term, so he should be ready, but only arrived at the club on Wednesday.
Lankshear has been in the building for a few days longer. Both could start as a natural partnership in the 4-4-2 Albion have used for some months now.
Grady Diangana and Jed Wallace would drop out. Perhaps only one of them drops out. Mowbray will certainly be pleased with the backing from club chiefs which all of a sudden brings more options.
