Wolves agreed a €18million fee (around £15million) for the Zimbabwean international, who has penned a three-and-a-half year deal at the Premier League club, with the option of extending that by a further 12 months.

The 28-year-old became the third and final addition of the January transfer window at Molineux, after the arrivals of Nasser Djiga and Munetsi's former Reims teammate Emmanuel Agabou.

And after completed his switch to England, defensive midfielder Munetsi is relishing the opportunity to prove his worth in the Premier League.

He told the club: "It's a dream come true for me. I've always wanted to be part of something big, and being part of Wolves is something that is very big for me, and is very big for my family.

"It's a team that I've also seen from afar, and the Premier League is the best place to be, so I'm delighted to join the family, to join the team.

"I'm very excited. It's probably going to be the first time I've had a big opportunity to be representing a bigger club.

"Nothing against Reims, but now you're going to be playing in the Premier League, playing for Wolves.

"Also, we have a greater population in England for Zimbabwean, I think I will feel even more at home than what I was doing in France."

Munetsi started his career in South Africa at Ubuntu Cape Town before going on to play for Baroka and Orlando Pirates.

He eventually made the move to Europe in 2019 where he spent six years with Reims, scoring 21 goals and setting up 14 more in 159 appearances.

Munetsi has also been capped 23 times by Zimbabwe and spoke to his international colleague Tawanda Chirewa and former Reims teammate Agadou before making the move.

"Tawanda messaged me as soon as he saw the news. With Agba, he did the same, because when he first came here, I was the first to welcome him," Munetsi continued.

"So, I think now it's going to be his turn to welcome me. As Wolves have seen so far, what he provides for the team, the impact that he has, the energy, the strength, the physique, it's something that you need in every top team.

"Besides that, he's also a very good friend of mine. We've been very good friends for the past three years. So I'm looking forward to that."
