Earlier on deadline day, the Express & Star revealed Albion were keen to bring in an attacking midfielder, before it emerged they were closing in on a deal for the Randers forward.

Bany, 21, only joined Randers back in February, but has been impressing in the Danish Superliga and has already been attracting interest from a number of clubs in Europe.

Albion looked to have beaten Celtic, Nantes and other European outfits to his signature, with Bany set to join Albion in a £3.3m deal.

But what can Albion fans expect from Bany?

Where does he play?

Bany has played all of his career in Denmark and for large parts of that he has occupied the ten role, just in behind the strikers.

He played in that position for first division side Boldklubben, after coming through their youth system.

He made a £130,000 move to Randers back in February, and has only featured around 21 times for the club with 15 of those appearances coming this season.

Despite being what seems like a natural number ten, he has also been used as a second striker in recent months with Randers.

That shows that he is a versatile player, who can occupy a number of positions across the front line or in behind for Albion.

What can he bring to Albion?

Information on Bany and his style of play indicates he is a player who likes to dominate the ball, is a technical player and likes to create.

So far this season he has picked up four assists in 15 appearances, in what is his first full season in the Danish top flight.

Back in February, when he was plucked from the first division, Randers sporting director Soren Pederson said: "He is an offensive player who is light on his feet and who likes to play in the gap and around the opponents' center-backs with really good speed and good ball handling.

"A good creative offensive player with speed in his feet."

Mowbray's type of player

Baggies fans who have watched Mowbray's sides in the past, and in particular his title winning Baggies side, will know he likes creative and technical players.

He has already referenced wanting 'technicians' in his side who are comfortable with the ball. Bany seems to very much fit that mould.

Stepping from the Danish Superliga to the Championship may well be a jump, but given how much he was attracting attention from clubs bigger in stature than Albion, underlines his quality.

He is likely to become Randers' club record sale - and could well be a key cog for Mowbray's side in the final months of the season.
