The 21-year-old England youth international only arrived at Villa Park back in the summer from Juventus - as part of a double £18.6m swoop alongside Enzo Barrenechea.

Before the end of the summer transfer window, he had already left Villa to join Serie A side Bologna on loan.

However, after making just 16 appearances in the first half of the season, Villa recalled him with reported talks of a loan move to the Championship.

And now that move has materialised, with the winger joining Championship side Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season.

He becomes the second player to depart Villa on deadline day, with fellow summer signing Kosta Nedeljković joining RP Leipzig on loan.
