Kidderminster Harriers missed out on a chance in the FA Trophy quarter-finals after a late defeat to Sutton United.

The National League North side went head-to-head with their National League visitors, who snatched the fifth round win with an 80th minute goal from Will Davies.

Harriers boss Phil Brown felt there was little to separate the two sides, despite the division difference, but said his side could have been more 'streetwise' in their approach.

"It was always going to be a tight game but we didn't show the opposition any disrespect by getting in their faces or by playing the kind of football that we played," Brown said.

"We came up against a team we respected, but respected them in the right way by playing some good football and trying to beat them in their own style.

"Both teams played 3-4-3 and I thought we won the majority of the one-v-ones all over the pitch by half-time.

"Then they upset the rhythm of the game in the first five minutes of the second half with a little coming together and people need to press reset buttons, knowing the opposition are going to do that.

"If we're playing better than then, they are going to do something about it, and that's what they did. The difference between the two teams was minimal but they were a tad more streetwise than us.

"The boy who sticks the ball in the back of the net is coming into a rich vein of form and he was a handful all day. He did quite a bit for their cause.

"We had chances to nullify that, put the ball in the back of the net and get our noses in front and it would have been a different game.

"We have to understand that teams are going to do that against us and wait for that moment to get the winning goal."

In league action, Rushall Olympic sit in the National League North relegation places after throwing away a late lead at Curzon Ashton.

In a tight contest, Aaron Forde's 89th minute half volley seemed destined to give Rushall all three points, but Luke Griffith's free-kick in the second minute of added time meant both sides had to settle for a point.

Rushall sit 21st in the division and are in the relegation zone on goal difference, level on points with Farsley Celtic just above them.
