The former Valencia midfielder arrived at Albion from Serie B side Sassuolo back in the summer to much excitement.
However, he has failed to hit any sort of form at the club and has fallen to the bottom of the midfield pecking order at The Hawthorns.
The Serbian international has featured 21 times for the Baggies, including nine starts, but has found himself out of favour for large parts of his time at the club.
Reports emerged this week that Racic was unhappy with his game time at Albion and was keen to depart the club during the transfer window.
The Express & Star understands Albion are open to letting Racic depart before the transfer window slams shut.
However, after Racic penned a season long loan back in the summer, a decision over his future beyond this month is down to his parent club and Racic himself.
Earlier in the window, reports claimed his former side Famalicao were keen to bring the 26-year-old back to Portugal. Braga have also been credited with interest in the midfielder.
Racic's potential departure will leave Albion with five senior central midfielders. Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt have started the majority of West Brom's games this season, while Ousmane Diakite has featured more regularly since the turn of the year.
John Swift was recalled to the side for the win over Portsmouth last week, and Albion have already added to their midfield options with the signing of Isaac Price from Standard Liege.
It is understood that Albion will not go back into the market for a replacement central midfielder in the final days of the window, if Racic is to depart the club.
Albion are satisfied with their midfield options, with a lot of their focus in the coming days being aimed at bringing in a striker.
