It is just over three years since the US international arrived at Albion from Orlando City for £7m - penning a four-and-a-half year deal at The Hawthorns.
He arrived at Albion to much excitement following an impressive loan spell in the Championship with Barnsley - but what followed could be described as nothing short of a nightmare for Dike.
The 24-year-old has endured injury set back after injury set back. In the three years at Albion he has endured three major injuries among other problems, and has spent around 27 months out of action.
As Dike gets set to return to action and play under his fourth Albion boss during his time at the club, we talk a look his time under those bosses and the numbers that go with it.
Valerien Ismael - Two appearances
Ismael was the man in charge at Albion when Dike came through the door in January 2022. The Frenchman had seen the quality that Dike could bring to Albion - having had the US striker on loan during his time at Barnsley.
Albion were constantly linked with Dike since the previous summer, with a deal being confirmed on New Years Day.
But despite pushing to bring Dike in for so long and believing he would be the answer up top for Albion - he would get no more than 90 minutes out of the US forward.
He came off the bench for a 31 minute debut against QPR - before pulling up just short of the hour mark on his full debut against Peterborough. Just a few weeks after arriving, Dike had picked up a hamstring injury that would rule him out for the rest of the season. Ismael wouldn't manage the forward again, as he was sacked just a few weeks later.
Steve Bruce - One appearance
Dike battled back to fitness in the summer of 2022, to be ready in time for the new campaign.
After his frustrations in his first season at the club, he was keen to hit the ground running and Baggies boss Steve Bruce was delighted to have the powerful forward at his disposal.
But as it transpired, he would have Dike in his attacking armoury for less time than Ismael did.
He came off the bench on the opening day of the season as Albion drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough. It would be in his only appearance for Bruce.
Dike picked up a muscle injury in training that would rule him out for another three months. As was the case with Ismael, Bruce had been sacked by the time Dike had returned.
Carlos Corberan - 29 appearances
When Corberan came into the job at Albion they were languishing at the foot of the table - but he was given an early boost as Dike was making his latest comeback.
He followed up a substitute appearance against Stoke by coming off the bench to bag a stunning goal in Albion's 2-1 comeback victory at Sunderland.
Dike had arrived, and it felt as though the fans and the players were about to see the best of him following his early Albion set backs.
In the coming months, Dike would go on to score seven goals in 13 appearances, with 11 of them being starts.
He bagged a brace against Middlesbrough and went on a run of four goals in five matches in February and March 2023.
It finally felt as though he was living up to his price tag before disaster struck, again.
Away at Stoke in April 2023, Dike went down in the second half after picking up his most serious injury to date at the club. He had torn his right Achilles tendon.
Another devastating blow would rule the US international out for nine months.
However, he battled back once again and made a goal scoring return in January 2024 when he netted in Albion's FA Cup win over Aldershot.
Four substitute appearances followed before his injury nightmare reared its head once more. Minutes after coming off the bench against Ipswich at Portman Road, Dike went down with another ruptured Achilles tendon.
This time it was on the other side. It was another cruel blow for the forward, who would then be ruled out for another lengthy period. To date, the latest injury has put him out for almost 12 months.
This set back means time spent on the side lines during his Albion career currently sits at 27 months.
Tony Mowbray - ?
Dike is set to make his latest Albion comeback in the coming weeks. The Baggies boss revealed he has had to keep a lid on Dike's willingness to return to action against Sheffield Wednesday next weekend.
Mowbray will be the fourth manager Dike has had in his three years at the club. If he can remain fit for a sustained period of time, Mowbray may well be the Baggies manager who gets the most out of him, after a turbulent time at the club so far.
