The Scottish club were already subject to a sanction from UEFA that was handed down last year.
Flares were let off during their clash with Borussia Dortmund, leading to the club being fined and warned that if such behaviour was repeated within the next two years, tickets could not be sold to fans for one away game in a UEFA competition.
Following their defeat at Aston Villa on Wednesday evening, the club confirmed it has received a further disciplinary notice from UEFA after a flare was set off during their 3-2 defeat.
That means that they face going into their Champions League play-off second leg against Bayern Munich with no supporters in the stadium.
In a statement, the club said: "The Club will obviously make robust representations to UEFA and will make every effort to ensure that our fans can attend our next UEFA Champions League match. However, clearly there is a risk that supporters may not be able to attend.
"In light of this situation, it is incumbent on the club to make supporters aware of this risk, when considering making arrangements for travel, until further information is provided by UEFA."
