The 35-year-old was forced off just past the half-hour mark during Walsall's 3-0 defeat against Bradford City at Valley Parade on Saturday.

Matt, who has scored nine times for Walsall this season, travelled to Fleetwood but was not involved in the match day squad.

The injury is not expected to be serious although Sadler was unable to confirm whether he will be available for the visit of Salford City on Saturday.

He said: "He went down and felt his hamstring at Bradford. It's not a bad one, it's not going to keep him out for too long but he obviously wasn't ready for tonight (at Fleetwood).

"We'll see for Saturday. I'm not sure yet because it only happened on Saturday and we haven't scanned it.

"It's not that bad that we'll have to have a scan so it's one of those where we just need to see how the next few days play out."

Manchester United loanee Ethan Wheatley was handed his full debut alongside Albert Adomah while Josh Gordon and Danny Johnson got minutes from the bench.

Walsall failed to find the net for the second league game on the spin for the first time in 14 months although Sadler was tight-lipped when asked if he will further bolster his attacking ranks.

"We'll see," he responded. There's obviously however many days left of it so we'll see what pops up."
