The Baggies man has netted three goals in his last two outings - while registering three assists in the last three games.

The playmaker has endured an injury hit first half to the campaign but has returned to the fold in recent games. His return to the side has coincided with speculation surrounding his future.

Diangana is out of contract in the summer, with reports suggesting the 26-year-old has turned down a contract offer from fellow Championship side Burnley.

Clubs in Serie A and La Liga have also been credited with interest in Diangana - who can enter into a pre-contract agreement with European clubs due to the fact he only has six months left to run on his contract.

In an Express & Star poll last week of 1,000 Baggies fans, just over 50 per cent said they would be happy for Diangana to be released at the end of the season, five years after he arrived from West Ham for £18m.

Asked about Diangana's contract situation on Saturday, Baggies boss Tony Mowbray insisted he would like the playmaker to stay if a deal can be done.

Diangana is one of five Baggies players whose contracts are up in the summer. Here is a look through those five players.

Grady Diangana

Diangana's contract situation has been well publicised and he knows where his manager stands on a potential new deal.

He arrived in a big money move from West Ham following Albion's last promotion to the top flight in 2020, following a stunning loan spell where he helped the club finish second in the Championship.

He penned a five year deal when he arrived. He is not going to be short of offers from elsewhere, with reports suggesting clubs are already monitoring his situation.

Mowbray referenced the fact that Diangana arrived at Albion in the Premier League, adding his salary may be 'pretty stretchy' for the club in the current climate.

It is clear to see that Albion would have to find some middle ground to strike a deal for Diangana to stay, but it is also clear that his new manager wants him to remain at The Hawthorns.

John Swift

Swift is the other high profile Albion player whose contract runs out in the summer - with his future unclear.

He arrived in 2022 on a three year deal and a free transfer from Reading, alongside Jed Wallace who also came in on a free.

They were two big Championship signings at the time, with Swift regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders in the league after a number of years at Reading.

Since his arrival he has scored 16 goals in 115 games, but this season has found himself making the majority of his appearances from the bench.

It is currently unclear whether Albion would seek to offer Swift a new deal - however, if they weren't looking at it, the situation may change following Mowbray's arrival.

Like with Diangana, Mowbray has waxed lyrical in the press about Swift and questioned why he hasn't been playing. He repaid his new boss' faith in Saturday by scoring for the first time this season in the 5-1 win over Portsmouth.

Semi Ajayi

The Nigerian international in his sixth and potentially final year as an Albion player - with his contract coming to an end in the summer.

Ajayi arrived back in 2019 and penned a four year deal, as he helped Albion win promotion during his first season.

Despite having injury issues during his time at the club, he has consistently featured more than 25 times in every campaign, until this season. He has played just 12 games this campaign due to hamstring surgery.

Ajayi has already signed an extension at Albion, back in 2022. His deal runs out this summer, and with the likes of Torbjorn Heggem coming in to impress this season and Caleb Taylor returning to the club, it isn't clear as yet whether Albion will seek to offer Ajayi a new deal.

Kyle Bartley

The 33-year-old is his seventh season at the club, having penned a one year contract extension back in the summer.

The experienced defender has played over 200 games, and was offered a deal back in the summer having been an almost ever present alongside Cedric Kipre in a water tight back line last season.

It is believed Bartley had to take reduced terms when he penned a one year extension in the summer. That contract included a clause that would trigger another further year if he were to play a certain number of games.

The number has not been specified publicly, but he has featured in 19 league games for Albion this season. If he does play the number of games specified in his deal, then he will automatically remain at Albion until 2026.

Ted Cann

Third choice keeper Cann penned a new deal back in the summer.

The keeper, who was previously at Liverpool's academy, has been sent out on loan to Yeovil Town, Leamington and AFC Telford United, during his time at Albion.

This season he has been number three and understudy to Alex Palmer and Joe Wildsmith.

His deal last summer was a 12 month one, with an option of another year in the club's favour.
