The new Premier League broadcasting deal with TNT Sports and Sky Sports, which is worth a record £6.7 billion, starts again in August.

Between the two broadcasters, they will show up to 270 live games a season for four years from the 2025/2026 campaign.

Now it has emerged that both broadcasters are holding talks with the FA and the Premier League regarding extra and behind the scenes access during live games.

According to reports in The Times, TNT and Sky want to have access to coaches, substitutes and potentially managers to conduct interviews during games.

Interviewing staff and players has taken place in other sports, as well as football broadcasts in England at National League level, but it has never happened in the Premier League.

Elsewhere, they are also putting forward the possibility of putting cameras in dressing rooms for behind the scenes access prior to games.

Cameras in dressing rooms have become more prominent in recent years with big clubs taking part in documentaries. Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham all allowed cameras into their dressing rooms for the Amazon Prime 'All or Nothing series'.

However, no cameras have been allowed into dressings before and during live games in the Premier League.

The new record Premier League TV deal which is set to kick off next season was signed back in 2023.

As part of the deal, Sky will show a minimum of 215 matches a season, with TNT being given 52 games.

Amazon Prime, which has earned plaudits for its coverage of Premier League football in recent years having showed 20 matches a season, was not handed any rights under the latest deal.
