Daniels suffered the injury in the 23rd-minute in the 4-2 defeat at Peterborough United in the EFL Trophy last Tuesday.

The 31-year-old went for a scan earlier this week and Walsall boss Mat Sadler has revealed that Daniels could be out until possibly April.

He said: "I believe Donervon will be out for eight to 10 weeks. So it's a little bit of a spell out.

"Pretty much everyone returns between the end of March and the beginning of April for the players that are out at the minute.

"Four good players (Priestley Farquharson, Jack Earing, George Hall) who will be back in and around it towards the end of the season. But Donervon is the same as that unfortunately. Not a great calf injury but I think we all knew that.

"Fortunately, he'll be back with us before the end of the season though."

The Montserrat international has been restricted to just nine appearances across all competitions this term.

He missed the first two months of the season with a knee injury and had a lengthy spell on the side lines at the start of last year.

Since arriving from Crewe Alexandra in January 2022, Daniels has played 113 times for the Saddlers, scoring four goals.

Daniels is one of 13 players who're out of contract at Walsall in the summer.
