The 33-year-old, who was with the Baggies between 2008 and 2013, has been in sensational form this season.

Wood has made 22 Premier League appearances for Forest so far this campaign, scoring 14 times.

His goals have helped former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo and his team, who are having an astonishing season, with them sitting third in the league table level on points with Arsenal and six points off league leaders Liverpool.

Wood's contract is set to come to an end in the summer, but reports now suggest the New Zealand international will sign new terms at the City Ground.

The forward is pushing Mo Salah, who has 18 goals, Erling Haaland, who has netted 17 times and Alexander Isak who has managed 15 for the Premier League golden boot.
