17-year-old Thomas started for the Reds who led by a single goal at the break thanks to Johnny Johnston's opener on the cusp of half-time.
Kettering scored twice in quick succession after the break to take the lead before Johnston bagged his brace to restore parity eight minutes after the restart.
Thomas was forced off with 11 minutes left on the clock but captain Kyle Rowley scored the winner less than 60 seconds later to earn Redditch a stunning win.
That ended a run of nine matches without a league win and helped them climb into 12th-place.
Tom Owen played a full 90 minutes for Dudley Town as they made it three league wins in a row with a 2-0 success over Stone Old Alleynians.
Matt Funge scored both goals for Dudley to help them move into ninth in the Midland Premier Division.
Owen, who featured for the first team in pre-season friendlies against Aston Villa and Leamington in 2023, has made seven appearances since arriving on loan in mid-December.
McLloyd Oben started for Romulus as they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 win at promotion-chasing Brocton.
Romulus had lost their previous four games on the bounce but Maradoche Mipro opened the scoring before Tyree Sanusi sealed the win with a quickfire brace late on.
