He beat Manchester United in just his second game and has been thrown into a relegation battle at the foot of the table, but he is enjoying the challenge.
Pereira and Wolves now prepare to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tonight and things could have been very different.
The head coach previously came close to the Everton job on three separate occasions and he has now revealed he spoke to Chelsea in 2019 over their vacancy, when Maurizio Sarri departed.
Frank Lampard eventually got that job ahead of Pereira.
But now, focused on keeping Wolves in the league, Pereira was in fine form in his pre-match press conference as he looked back on his conversations with Chelsea.
"I had a lot of meetings (with Premier League clubs)," Pereira laughed.
