According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Walsall have had a bid of £230,000 'rejected' by Lincoln after reportedly being close to reaching an agreement earlier this week.

Draper, who scored 10 goals on loan at Bescot during the first half of last season, started for the Imps as they beat Northampton Town 1-0 on Saturday.

And after the game, Skubala told local media: "No. He is not leaving the club. He's part of us and at this moment in time, he will not be leaving the club.

"He gives us something different and is one of our own who we want to look after. He's still got development to do but he's staying with us.

"We really believe in Freddie and I think today, in those types of games, you can see where Freddie comes alive.

"He was holding it up for us. I thought he was great and he showed why he is at the club."

Walsall boss Mat Sadler refused to comment on the speculation surrounding Draper's potential return when asked in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

The Saddlers boss is on the market for a new centre-forward this month after League Two top scorer Nathan Lowe was recalled by Stoke City last week.

Lowe scored 18 goals and set-up seven more in 30 matches across all competitions for the Saddlers, netting 15 in the league.

League Two leaders Walsall extended their club record winning streak to nine league games with a 4-2 victory over MK Dons at Bescot on Saturday.
