Experienced centre-back Bartley, 33, has an unspecified niggling injury not related to his long-term knee management and was left out in the FA Cup at Bournemouth for that reason.

Interim head coach Chris Brunt - for who the Potters clash is set to be his final at the helm with Tony Mowbray believed to be on the verge of checking in for a return - confirmed Albion will give Bartley all the time he needs to feature against Stoke and Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

Striker Dike has not kicked a ball competitively since last February where he ruptured an Achilles for a second time. He then suffered a hamstring setback in October.

But Dike completed a full session on Friday as he stepped up his return.

Dike's return could be hugely timely for the Baggies given they this week lost top goalscorer Josh Maja for a period of six to eight weeks with a lower leg injury.

Here is a run through of Albion's latest injury concerns.

Kyle Bartley - unspecified

Brunt said: "Obviously Kyle Bartley was left out last week as well, just with a niggle, we'll probably give him as much time as we can, probably for the game tomorrow and Tuesday, to see how he is with that. We have to wait and see.

"He's one you always have to manage due to the game time and the way he is and to be fair to Barts he's really good at that himself, he knows his body and is good at managing himself."

The issue is a separate one to the long-term knee struggles Bartley has been managing, which required minor surgery earlier this season.

Daryl Dike - hamstring

Brunt revealed the luckless United States international completed full team training on Friday. The striker, who has endured four major injuries at the club, will continue to be managed by medical staff, with the likelihood he will turn out for the under-21s prior to a senior return.

The interim boss even smiled when admitting Dike had to be held back due to his eagerness to impress.

He said:  "He's trained most of the training session today so that's him (back) in more-or-less a full training session.

"It'll be monitored obviously week-on-week with sports science and medical, they will look after his load and all that stuff to give him the best chance to get match fit and have an impact on the pitch.

"He's champing at the bit, he's raring to go, you're almost having to calm him down because he's so eager to get back involved. That's credit to him because the amount of serious injuries he's had, it's devastating for anybody. But to be fair to him he's cracked on with a smile on his face and got back to a decent place.

"Hopefully we can look after him and he can have an impact for us between the end of the season."

Josh Maja - leg

Albion sought a second opinion on an injury to Maja's lower league and the striker - who was left out against the Cherries - had suffered a worse injury than feared. He is set to go under the knife.

"It's a massive blow, he's been really good this season and not just for his goals tally alone," said Maja.

"His play for the team, his link-up play, he's a very clever footballer. After the tough season he had last season with a couple of injuries we were really looking forward to getting him back up to full fitness.

"But those injuries are part and parcel of football, it's just unfortunate this one is longer than what we expected, but hopefully it'll get sorted quickly and he'll be back ready to go for the end of the season, it'll be like getting a new player."

Semi Ajayi - hamstring

Ajayi has been out for a number of months with a serious hamstring injury, which required surgery, and is not expected in training until February with a March return pencilled in.
