MK Dons have been busy on the transfer front ahead of their visit to Walsall as they aim to get their League Two play-off pursuit back on track.

The Dons have fallen six points adrift of the top seven after a run of three defeats in five games but still boast two games in hand over seventh-place Doncaster Rovers.

That means they're still very much in the play-off picture and the high-profile signings of Dan Crowley and Jay Williams is likely to bolster their chances of climbing closer to the promotion battle.

Tommi O'Reilly, who spent the first half of the season on loan at League One side Shrewsbury Town, has also joined on loan from Villa.

Crowley arrived from fellow promotion rivals Notts County on Wednesday in what appears to be a real coup for the

Williams, who played a key role in leading Crawley Town to League Two play-off success last term, was also reunited with his former boss Scott Lindsey last week.

On the signing of Crowley, MK boss Lindsey said:  “Dan's up there with the best in the division. We saw how good he was on Boxing Day, we want him to perform in a white shirt now, and hopefully we see performances like that every week.

“The club have been after him since the summer, and I've been a big fan of his too.

"I've watched him in real detail over the years and been really impressed, he's a fantastic footballer. He carries the ball well, he creates and scores, so we're really excited to work with him.”

One of the biggest problems for the Dons has been their inability to pick up points consistently on their travels although that has shown signs of improvement of late.

Only 13 of their 34 points so far have come on the road in League Two, with nine of those coming in the past four away matches (winning three, losing once).
