The call-up comes after a series of trials beginning in October led to an 18-player squad being selected, with the final stage being delayed twice due to poor weather.
Hednesford Town host the side’s first fixture against Australia’s under-18 Schoolboys on January 24, after which the players will attend a training camp at St George’s Park.
Lycett competed as a member of the Staffordshire Schools & Colleges Football Association alongside Sutton Coldfield Town’s Luca Taylor.
The SAFIB Centenary Shield, which runs from February until April, will give the side an opportunity to compete competitively against the home nations and the Republic of Ireland.
