Dudley darts ace to line up on PDC Pro Tour alongside Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen
A Dudley darts player will be lining up against the likes of Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen on the PDC Tour for the next two years.
Tom Bissell came through UK Qualifying School to earn his two-year Pro Tour card, which gives him entry into Players Championship events, European Tour events and UK Open qualifiers.
The 37-year-old won his place on the opening day of the event in Milton Keynes, battling past Jarred Cole, Jamie Owens and former World Cup winner John Henderson to reach the last 16.
Bissell then saw off Thomas Lovely, James Howard Hughes and Tom Sykes before a tense final against 2020 World youth champion Bradley Brooks saw the newcomer book his place on the professional circuit with a 6-5 win.
All unqualified tour card holders will compete in the Winmau World Masters preliminary rounds on January 29, eight of whom will feature alongside the top 24 players on the PDC Order of Merit.
The Masters - won last year by Stephen Bunting - starts on January 30, while the Pro Tour kicks off with the first Players Championship event on February 10, which was won by teenage sensation - and now world champion - Littler.
With qualifying in Milton Keynes and Kalkar, Germany, coming to an end, 20 of the 29 tour cards distributed have been awarded to competition newcomers.
However, Tipton's Jamie Hughes was unable to regain his card, while Ryan O’Connor, Graham Hall, Owen Maiden, Reece Colley, Matt Dicken and Dan Hands also came up just short.
