Tommy Simkin - 7

Quiet - Very little he could do to stop Connor Jennings' strike with the ball coming through bodies on an otherwise quiet afternoon.

David Okagbue - 8

Astute - Read the game expertly well and marshalled the threat of Tranmere's attacking line with relative ease.

Harry Williams - 8

Solid - A dominant force in the air and showed great composure on the ball when building from the back as he produced a comprehensively solid performance.

Taylor Allen - 9

Creator - Posed a constant threat with his crosses and collected a pair of assists for the opening two goals from Jamille Matt and Ryan Stirk.

Ryan Stirk - 8

Elegant - Opened his goal scoring account for the season with a stunning low drive from distance and demonstrated his elegance on the ball with a controlled and measured display.

Connor Barrett - 8

Direct - Drove at the Tranmere back-line with a series of dangerous direct runs and combined well with Oisin McEntee down the right.

Jamie Jellis - 8

Grew - Pickpocketed Sam Finley before he was shown a second yellow for handling the ball. He continued to go from strength to strength after the break and added Walsall's fourth with a clinical finish.

Oisin McEntee - 9

Tireless - Handed his first league start in over four months. He hounded the opposition throughout and offered constant support for Barrett with a series of rampaging runs down the right.

Liam Gordon - 8

Tricky - Played an instrumental role in the build-up to Walsall's third with a tricky run down the left to bamboozle former Saddlers man Cameron Norman.

Nathan Lowe - 8

Classy - Showed his quality on the ball by dropping deep to create with a few classy touches before setting up Jellis' goal and adding a fifth himself late on.

Jamille Matt - 10

Star man - Bagged a brace with two predatory finishes in either half to reach a century of goals in the Football League and increase his season tally to nine.
