But the Baggies are in a relatively strong position when it comes to injury absentees as they set sights on upsetting the odds at Bournemouth in the competition's third round at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
Only two members of the senior squad - overseen by caretaker trio Chris Brunt, Damia Abella and Boaz Myhill in Dorset for one last time - are currently sidelined through injury.
The interim management are expected to make changes for rotation for the tie against the in-form Cherries. Some are still feeling the effects of a gruelling period and that will be considered with the call for changes.
Brunt gave a brief update on the status of one of Albion's injury victims in his press conference on Friday morning.

Daryl Dike - hamstring
Striker Dike could be a welcome newly-available gift to Albion's new head coach when confirmation is made on Carlos Corberan's successor. He has not kicked a ball in 11 months due to a latest setback.
"We're still trying to integrate Daryl into bits and pieces," Brunt said. "He's being looked after by the medical and sports science, he's dropped in and out of training, which is pretty standard off the back of injuries he's had.
"Hopefully, if things go well over the next couple of weeks, he might not be too far away. Daryl is desperate to get back involved, he's had such a tough time over the last couple of years, if we can get him involved soon."
Semi Ajayi - hamstring
Defender Ajayi has been sidelined since October and is stepping up his return from a serious hamstring injury which required surgery. He was forecast for a potential return to training in late February and could make a playing return in March.
