The Fulham striker’s two penalties during Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Ipswich at Craven Cottage saw him surpass the tally of compatriot Javier Hernandez.
Jimenez has now netted 55 Premier League goals since moving to England with Wolves in 2018 from Benfica, despite suffering a serious head injury in 2020 that kept him sidelined for almost nine months.
The 33-year-old, who has struck 15 times for Fulham since joining the club in the summer of 2023, told his club’s website: “I’m really proud of it, it’s a really good achievement.
“I want to keep scoring to increase the amount of goals I’ve got here in the UK and in the Premier League and I’m really happy with the achievement.”
Despite creating more chances throughout, Fulham twice had to fight back from a goal down to claim a draw against Ipswich, with their second equaliser coming in stoppage time.
Jimenez, whose brace of second-half spot-kicks cancelled out goals from Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap, believes the Cottagers deserved more than point.
“It’s a game that we deserved more from and we did everything to score,” he said.
“We need to be sharper in both sides and need to be a better team in little aspects in order to win these kind of games.”
Jimenez has scored all 10 of his Premier League spot-kicks, with only Cole Palmer and Yaya Toure now ahead of him of those players with a 100 per cent penalty record in the division.
He added: “I’m always confident with what I’m doing, I like to take the penalties. I’ll keep doing them my way and I like to look at the goalkeeper and know what I’m capable of doing, I’ll do it like this.”
