The Baggies have taken four points from a possible nine in the interim period after Corberan's exit under caretakers Chris Brunt, Damia Abella and Boaz Myhill.

The last two games, a 2-2 draw against high-flying Sheffield United and 3-1 victory over Preston, have provided optimism as managerless Albion negotiate a packed schedule after the former head coach's sudden exit.

Left-back Styles, a summer signing, bagged his first Baggies goal in the Preston victory and revealed Albion are looking to get on the front foot more.

"We did really well under Carlos, but I think as a team we just had to galvanise and we thought 'you know what we just have to get after teams more'," Styles told BBC WM ahead of Saturday lunchtime's trip to Swansea.

"Sometimes we were a bit structured in terms of our defence, but the more bodies we can get forward the more pressure we can put on the opponents and more chances we create, like against Preston where we're scoring three in the first half and it could've been more realistically."

Hungary international Styles, who was signed from Barnsley, steered in a fine effort with his weaker right foot from 18 yards from a smart Mikey Johnston corner.

The versatile 24-year-old had to bide his time under Corberan and it was not until late October he forced a way in as a regular on the left side of defence. His attacking attributes have made him an immediate favourite with the Baggies faithful.

He is part of an entertaining left side with Johnston and Karlan Grant and Styles is loving the opportunity to venture forward.

"I haven't played many games just as a left-back," Oldham-born Styles admitted. "It would've been just at Sunderland (on loan) last year where I played the majority in a back four.

"But with the players we have we can interchange. I can go inside, I can go wide. We have a really good squad and I'm enjoying getting up the pitch more now. Long may that continue."
