A yellow weather warning of snow and ice has been issued by the Met Office which prompted the decision to hold a precautionary pitch inspection at 1:30pm this afternoon.
Cheltenham placed a cover over the pitch in an attempt to protect the surface from the icy weather conditions with the away end frozen solid.
However, the decision has been reached to postpone the fixture after the pitch was deemed unplayable.
A club statement from Cheltenham read: "The frost covers have been on the playing surface since yesterday morning but with overnight temperatures due to drop below freezing once again, it was deemed the pitch will not be playable in time for tomorrow's scheduled kick-off.
"Tickets already purchased for the match will be valid for the re-arranged date which will be announced in due course."
League Two leaders Walsall will next be in action when they welcome Tranmere Rovers to Bescot in the lunch-time kick-off on Saturday next week.
Walsall will be chasing a club record eighth consecutive league win next weekend after coming from behind to beat Notts County 2-1 at Meadow Lane on New Year's Day.
The Saddlers, who sit 12 points clear at the top, have won seven matches in a row in the league for the first time in 65 years and are unbeaten in their last 14 in League Two.
