The Burntwood man (13-3) won the belt by taking the unbeaten record of Tom Cowling in a 10-round thriller back in September and will be looking to put on a big follow-up performance ahead of possible major title shots this year.

He makes his first defence at BCB's No Backing Down at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham on Friday, February 28 - a card which also features seven of the area's elite prospects.

Another Midlands champion, featherweight, Sian O'Toole (5-0), will be in action in a six-rounder as the Droitwich talent moves closer to further domestic honours.

The ‘King’ Hamza Azeem (7-0) picked up his first career knockout last time out sensationally blowing away Martin Shaw in just 31 seconds. The Brummie born southpaw middleweight is also in the title hunt.

Bradley Thompson (6-0), Nico Ogbeide (4-0-1), Conor Baker (5-0), Ameen Khalid (7-0-1) and Levi Vaughan (3-0)  will all get their first run-outs of the year all hoping to put on a statement in the second city.

Tickets are available now, priced at £45 standard and £80 VIP ringside, from the boxers directly or by emailing info@bcb-promotions.com
