Brocton win again to stay firmly in the Midland Premier Division title hunt

Brocton remain firmly in the Midland League Premier Division title race after extending their unbeaten run to 10 games with a 2-0 win at Uttoxeter Town.

The Badgers have collected eight wins over the course of that unbeaten run to keep themselves just one-point behind league leaders Lichfield City. 

Seb Conaghan and Connor Haddaway scored in the final 10 minutes to secure maximum points for Brocton. 

Lichfield maintained their slender advantage at the summit with a 4-1 demolition of Atherstone Town at Brownsfield Road. 

Joe Haines bagged a brace on his 250th appearance for the club while James Wilcock and Jack Edwards completed the scoring. 

OJM Black Country romped to a resounding 6-2 triumph in their midtable battle at Studley and AFC Wulfrunians beat Dudley Town 3-1 courtesy of goals from Freddie Cockerell, Jake Webb and Ryan Bright.

Elsewhere, Tividale sit two points clear of the drop zone after drawing 0-0 at Stourport Swifts and rock bottom Wolverhampton Casuals held Shifnal to a goalless stalemate. 

In Division One, Cradley Town climbed into the play-off spots with a 2-1 victory at Bridgnorth thanks to goals from Jack Till and Brad Ward. 

Bilston Town and Smethwick Rangers both trail the play-offs by four points after their goalless draw while Luke Carter and Nathan Guest scored for Gornal Athletic in their 2-1 win over Wednesfield Community.

Wolverhampton Sporting Community climbed to within one-point of safety in the North West Counties League Division One South after sharing the spoils in an eight-goal thriller against rock bottom Shawbury United. 

Shakeel Brown netted twice and Mitch Lawley and Benjamin Herrington also got on the score sheet for Sporting. 

League leaders Stafford Town were not in action but Eccleshall returned to action after almost a month without a game to win 1-0 at Allscott Heath. 

Liam Hallam scored the decisive goal inside 20 minutes to help Eccleshall leapfrog Market Drayton Town and climb into ninth-place.

Ludlow suffered their third defeat on the bounce in the Hellenic League Division One after falling to a 4-3 defeat at FC Stratford. 

Charlie Edwards opened the scoring for Ludlow inside two minutes before Thomas Hodson equalised in the 20th minute. 

Leslie Robder bagged a brace for Stratford either side of Ryan Lewis' leveller but Lewis soon hauled Ludlow level eight minutes after the break to complete his own double. 

The game remained at deadlock for much of the second period until James Kiley grabbed the decider 10 minutes from time.
