The United States international striker is soon to mark three years an Albion player but the story of his career in the Black Country has been blighted by numerous serious injury setbacks.

Dike, 24, has played 32 games for the club in almost three years - 17 as a starter - and scored seven goals.

His latest injury, a hamstring problem that delayed his return from a long-term lay-off by a couple of months, is a fifth injury of note in his Baggies career. It follows two Achilles ruptures and another two serious muscle injuries.

Corberan has revealed the plan is for Dike to start team training in January. It was his first training session last month where the £7million striker injured his hamstring. But the Baggies head coach, whose side welcome Bristol City on Sunday, could not put a timeframe on a return to first-team contention.
