What he also would have realised, is that his game time was going to be limited. Josh Maja was going to be the main man, Karlan Grant was back in the fold and Daryl Dike is still at the club.

But it is safe to say, Cole, who was the third highest goalscorer in League One last season, would have expected to feature more.

His minutes have been limited, and he has been on the pitch in league games for Albion, for less than 90 minutes including stoppage time, during his six substitute appearances.

His only lengthy appearance came at Luton Town, where he featured for the final 30 minutes and had a chance to put Albion ahead.

But Carlos Corberan has opted for other changes at the top end of the field, over bringing Cole into the mix.

Lewis Cox and Jonny Drury discussed Cole and his lack of minutes in this week's Baggies Broadcast podcast, and questioned why he has hardly featured, after signing a two year deal back in the summer.
