The outcome saw the hosts leapfrog Carlos Corberan's men into seventh in the Championship.

We look at some of the talking points from the clash in Hertfordshire.

Rare losing feeling

It has been some time - two-and-a-half months specifically - since defeat at The Hawthorns against Middlesbrough. Watford inflicted just a third this term on Albion.

It didn't feel exactly like a 12-match unbeaten run, largely because wins were few and far between. Some of the many draws in that period have been more underwhelming. Corberan hinted the Vicarage Road trip was a lesson in valuing draws more.

"Everyone, we probably didn't value well enough the draws we were achieving before," Corberan said. "We would take another draw today, because from every result you have there is a lot of work and things you do.

"Of course - after the result and not before the game - I will tell you that hopefully we would have achieved the point that sometimes you don't value enough."
