Vakoun Bayo converted his second of the afternoon shortly into the second half at Vicarage Road but referee Gavin Ward missed a barge on Albion frontman Josh Maja.

Maja was bumped out of the way after Rocco Vata crossed, leaving Bayo free to slot in his second to double the Hornets' advantage. Jayson Molumby hit back later in the second period but Corberan's men could not find an equaliser.

"The action of the second goal is one that I think Maja received a foul," said Corberan.

"The interpretation of the referee was no foul. They could have scored before - but in that one Josh told me it was a foul, I saw a foul, but the referee unfortunately didn't. That made the game more difficult.

"I didn't see it back, Josh told me it was a foul. I thought it was a foul but the referee who decided it didn't see the same."

Referee Ward felt the ire of the away end as he bought into the hosts' gamesmanship in a frustrating Baggies finale.

Corberan had no complaints about the manner of Watford's opening goal, where Bayo was given all the space among Albion's three centre-halves to head into the corner.

On how easily striker Bayo found it to make space Corberan said: "It is a situation that happened to us and it is something that we need to work on, to talk on and to adapt."
