Barrow look to reverse bump in the road at Walsall
Barrow's season has hit a major bump in the road as they travel to League Two leaders Walsall looking to end an eight-match winless run.
The Bluebirds soared to the league summit with 16 points from their opening seven games but just one win from the last 11 have seen them plummet to 13th.
Former Gillingham boss Stephen Clemence replaced Pete Wild after he was sacked following Barrow's failure to reach the play-offs.
Clemence, who won the Championship title with Walsall boss Mat Sadler at Birmingham City in 2009, feels that results may not have reflected the performances on the pitch in recent weeks.
"The squad I've got here, I'm pleased with all of them. I believe we can go to backs against any team in the division whoever I pick.
"I think we have done that in all of the games this season barring one or two where we've come up a little bit short.
"I know results haven't been great in the last number of games but I don't think performances have been completely shocking either."
Barrow have drawn four of their last six in the league although no side in the division has scored fewer goals than them on the road (five).
Storm Darragh forced their home fixture against MK Dons to be postponed last Saturday and has handed them an 11-day break since their 1-1 draw at Bradford City in their last outing.
Key midfielder Kian Spence returned from injury as a second half substitute at Valley Parade while Emile Acquah also made his comeback from a one-month spell on the side lines.
"To have two players come back like Kian and Emile is a real lift for everyone. It was a lift for myself, the players and the staff because they're two good players and they can help us going forward."
