The Spaniard, whose troops welcome Coventry City to The Hawthorns this evening, admitted Albion have a "responsibility" to rally supporters with their performances.

Atmosphere at The Hawthorns have been a point of debate for some time, with a significant numbers of draws and lack of goals and attacks, among other things, being linked to an at-times lacklustre vibe at home.

The home crowd rallied behind their side in Sunday's 2-2 draw against leaders Sheffield United, as Corberan's played fired out of the blocks with an up-tempo start.

"I think we have the responsibility to make them give a response," Corberan said on the volume levels.

"They give us, and we always appreciate it, but we cannot ask them to give us something if we don't do it first. If we don't do anything first and they give us this support, it is unbelievable because it helps a lot.

"If they would know how much it helps when we hear them, the extra level of energy they can bring is true. When you play away and hear it in opposition stadiums it affects you. When you feel this support it helps you, it has a clear influence.

"But we can never ask the people to bring something if we don't mobilise the people first. So the responsibility is on us."

Corberan identified one of the football world's most revered bosses, Atletico Madrid's Diego Simeone, and how he sees the influence of atmosphere.

"Simeone is probably the coach in the world that asks for more support from Atletico Madrid...why? Because he knows the influence and impact," Corberan said.

"When we play in stadiums and I feel this, I say to my players many times, you need to have a strong mentality when the fans make it feel like when they have achieved a corner they have scored a goal.

"When they create this atmosphere they make a corner feel like a goal and it can affect you. You need to know 'hey, you've only conceded a corner, it's fine', but these things can change how you feel, how you perform."
