A three-game week comes as a tester physically and boss Carlos Corberan is mindful that the load proved difficult in the middle fixture of the last three-match week at Sunderland a fortnight ago.
Corberan hopes to have Grady Diangana back as an option from the bench after the attacker missed four games.
The head coach also namechecked Josh Maja, Kyle Bartley, Alex Mowatt and Mikey Johnston, four crucial players, as needing assessing to go again following Sunday's draw against Sheffield United.
Albion's other sidelined players are still not quite due to return to training, though for a couple of long-term victims light at the end of the tunnel is appearing.
Here is a round-up of the latest status.
Grady Diangana - calf (70 per cent chance of featuring)
An unexpected bit of good news for the head coach is that DR Congo international Diangana trained well and free of pain on Monday and the hope was the same would come on Tuesday.
Diangana has not featured since the win at Hull before the international break and his last start was at Luton on November 1.
Since he has been sidelined with pain in his calf. Scans did not show an injury and Corberan felt the winger was being too cautious regarding a muscle injury from pre-season. Specialists determined nerve damage after that but Diangana has finally been able to train.
The head coach has emphasised what a miss Diangana has been following a fine campaign last term.
Callum Styles - illness (95 per cent chance)
Corberan revealed on Monday that the in-form left-back was feeling ill during the Sheffield United fixture and was sick after full-time, but Styles is expected back in contention.
Gianluca Frabotta - ankle (85 per cent chance)
Frabotta, who has barely been seen since his summer move from Italy, turned his ankle in training prior to the Blades clash but was still well enough for the bench, though Corberan could not used him to replace the ill Styles.
Corberan has said recently that Frabotta has taken a significant adaptation period since his move from regular loan football in the Italian second tier and a hugely different style of football.
Paddy McNair - hamstring (zero per cent chance)
The loan defender, who is only at The Hawthorns until the early days of the new year, is closing in on a return. He is set to return to training on December 20, just before Albion welcome Bristol City. It could potentially see him in contention for a couple of games after Christmas.
Daryl Dike - hamstring (zero per cent chance)
The striker is set to return to training at the end of December. His previous return to full training after the long Achilles lay-off resulted in a big hamstring setback. The United States international is set to have another chance around the turn of the year, though will not be in contention to feature until into January.
Semi Ajayi - hamstring (zero per cent chance)
Continuing his rehab from a serious hamstring injury and is not expected to return to training until February and in contention to play until March.
