The Old Gold found the net four times within the opening 20 minutes - Destiney Toussaint, Jade Cross, Becky Anderson and Charlotte Greengrass finished clinically for the hosts.

Shortly after, Greengrass had her second of the afternoon, meanwhile Beth Merrick and Tammi George added to the scoresheet. After the interval, Greengrass secured her hat-trick and went on to get five goals in total. Anna Morphet, Jade Cross and Ania Denham also found the net to round off the display.

Manager Dan McNamara said it was a ‘real highlight’ watching his team's rampant win. He said: “I think it was ruthless, a great performance.

“It could’ve been one of them games where you don’t like watching it and I thought it went that way towards the end of the first half.

We got the fans back on the edge of their seats with the two fantastic finishes from Beth (Merrick) and Tammi (George).

“Second half was all about maintaining the standards and keeping your professionalism, I thought the girls did that very well.

“To get a massive scoreline like that with some good performances and plenty of goals from everywhere was a real highlight."

Jade Cross started the game and repaid that trust by scoring two goals in the fixture. McNamara has praised her persistence: “A couple of great goals for herself to add to the astonishing tally that has now got even higher.

“She’s a super player and a superb person to work with.

“She knows the club have recruited some outstanding players and it’s hard to get into the 11.

“When you do, you have to take your chance, and I thought she did that well today.

“It’s really exciting to have players stepping in and doing performances like she has today.

“Charlotte was outstanding, she probably missed a couple of early chances that she would be disappointed with.

“From then on, she really hit the ground running with some great finishes.

"That will do her the world of good and help her individual confidence going into next week and the games that are to come in the future."
