Jamille Matt has heaped praise on goalkeeper coach Dan Still for his work on set pieces after Walsall's crucial 1-0 win at local rivals Port Vale on Saturday.
Walsall leapfrogged Port Vale and climbed two points clear at the League Two summit with a game in hand.
Matt scored the decisive goal from Taylor Allen's corner and the experienced frontman paid testament to Still for helping add another goal threat to Walsall's attacking repertoire.
He said: "It's something we work on. Dan Still, our goalkeeper coach, is also our set piece coach. He works extremely hard on it so a lot of credit goes to him for that.
"Then it's the delivery and down to the boys then to go and attack and try to score. We've got a decent return from set pieces but it's just another string to our bow that we want to keep using."
Walsall collected maximum points from both games last week after beating Notts County 3-2 at Bescot on Tuesday evening.
And Matt agreed that it was the perfect way to cap a statement week in the early automatic promotion race.
"It's pleasing to look back now that we've got the six points from those two games but they've been two tough games and there's been a lot energy spent and a lot of effort from the boys," he added.
"It's nice to have the six points now and we would've taken that at the start of the week so we're happy with it."
