The Hawthorns hosts were unfortunate to find themselves behind at the interval having shipped two goals in as many minutes to the table-topping Blades after Torbjorn Heggem had opened the scoring.

Albion caught the eye in a front-footed first 30 or 35 minutes against Chris Wilder's visitors and were very good value for their lead through Heggem's first goal for the club. But Callum O'Hare and Tyrese Campbell struck - the second from a Heggem error - to turn the scoreline upside down.

At the interval Corberan was at pains to remind his players they had been on top for much of the half and Albion rallied in the second period and claimed a deserved point through Tom Fellows' deflected leveller.

"I think we played excellently for 30 minutes of the game," said Corberan. "Unfortunately they used one situation that was more an accident for the first goal. They made a one-two that Fellows didn't defend well wide, a ball in the box and we couldn't solve well their first box situation.

"Two minutes later Heggem - who every game has showed an unbelievable level - has been managing the ball in an exceptional way. Mowey (also) fine, Molumby fine, Maja managing every single type of pass, because we were overusing Heggem, with every problem he was always the solution.

"They used well one mistake we had close to our box. When you play against a team like Sheffield United, the first in the table, you can never lose the concentration in any moment in the box. They have a level of accuracy and impact that helps them to be in the position they are."

The Blades had been razor-sharp to punish the Baggies' two minutes of sloppiness but the second half was also just about in Albion's favour as, after Fellows struck, Corberan's side looked the most likely to find a third.

The Spaniard confirmed his half-time message:  "It was difficult to manage, because you felt the team was better but were losing the game 2-1 in the rest time. I said to the players in the rest time that in front of the difficult moment you need to know if you are better than them or not - and don't be feeling they have been better because it was not the case.

"We had been playing better than them, but we lost the defensive concentration and accuracy in the box to allow them to score the two goals.

"I think the second half we tried to create the momentum from the first 30 minutes. Fortunately with the finish of Fellows it helped us to increase belief but after that in the last actions when we had the opportunity we didn't manage it well to win the game."
