Back to square one; desperately disappointing, with the defending in the opening stages horrifically reminiscent of the ghoulish debacle at Brentford back in October.

Bournemouth didn’t have to play well to beat us, we did the job for them; they simply needed to turn up. There can’t be a more damning indictment of Wolves.

The capacity of this team to exert self-inflicted havoc on itself seems boundless. Chasms of open space, hapless disorganisation, spewing up possession and a general air of carelessness and indolence all contributed to the easiest of passages for an efficient and superior Bournemouth.

Even when we twice clawed our way back into the game, we immediately, almost as if on cue assuaged any qualms the visitors may have had, by presenting them with more unopposed generosity.

The optimism generated at Fulham evaporated in a trice. Molineux was flat and fractious, wholly dissatisfied, estranged from players and coach and frankly, fed up to the back teeth.

Derided and subdued by the smallest travelling away support on the circuit; embarrassed and humiliated, but ultimately not greatly surprised. Three penalties conceded on your own midden; a clear indication of the ineptitude and panic that has haunted us all season.

More goals conceded than any other team in the league and even worse, not a glimmer of a suggestion that any action is being taken to tackle the mounting problems. After the fourth goal, subdued and devoid of ideas, we simply played out time; vapid and big on hesitancy and it made for grim viewing.

These 'soft' set of fixtures didn't look so soft this time around. Bournemouth were hugely impressive, managing the game, the match, the clock and Wolves. They looked the finest side we've seen and had two fast forwards while we had a series of individual errors that made for an unpleasant looking scoreline.

Following our unbeaten run it did not take long for our bubble to be burst. A needless challenge and the tone was set inside the opening minute. Avoidable mistakes by Toti, Sa and later on Dawson gifted three penalties and, along with another poorly defended goal, eclipsed our two well taken Larsen goals.
