Albion had already drawn seven of their last ten games heading to the North East - and they kept another clean sheet in another goalless draw.

But in truth the circumstances were different than in previous weeks, with a positive taken from it given they were suffering a defensive crisis.

Ousmane Diakite was due to play at the back after Darnell Furlong picked up a fifth booking on Saturday - before he pulled up in the warm up with Kyle Bartley rushed back for an early return.

He could only feature for 45 minutes - with midfielder Uros Racic playing the second half as a central defender.

They had chances but Albion rode their luck and tied that together with some solid and brave defending to add another point and another draw to their tally.

Fellows said: "Changing from a back five to a back four was different and we had little time to prepare.

"But we showed our versatility and dug in when we needed to.

"If you can't win then you do not want to lose.

"We obviously want more attacking intent but getting into those areas is tough and easier said than done when they are pressing high and have the crowd behind them.

"It was tough but we take a point and we move on from it."
