Albion are the Championship's draw specialists currently - but they went to Sunderland under tough circumstances that only got more difficult.

Ousmane Diakite was set to full in at the back in the absence of Darnell Furlong.

But when he pulled up in the warm up, Kyle Bartley was forced to start when he was only due to make a late cameo appearance on his return from injury.

Albion then dug in in the second half when Bartley had to come off, with Uros Racic making the move from central midfield into the back line.

The Baggies did have two big chances in the game - but Corberan made the admission that his side didn't do enough to win the game.

But he praised his players following the pre-match upheaval.

He said: "I think it is very difficult game and to achieve one point with a lot of resilience.

"We had to compete with many aspects, we arrive without centre backs, Bartley was not ready to start and then Diakite feels something in the arm up.

"Bartley played and could only play 45 minutes and we had to adapt to find a solution and we finished with a number eight at centre back.

"Today we were suffering and it has been one game where the circumstances make us value the point even more, when Sunderland were also better than us.

"We were preparing with Diakite because Bartley was only planned to play 20 to 30 minutes but we had to find solutions and Bartley stepped up.

"Uros (Racic) went into centre back and played a good game.

"We didn't manage the ball well in the attacking half to sustain attacks and make them defend, so we had to defend more but there were a lot of positives.

"We showed mentality and resilience to achieve something in difficult circumstances.

"Tom Fellows played as a wing back for a long time, Bartley was in there, Uros, Mowatt, Molumby, Maja, Grant, I saw all my players giving their best.

"You can not always win when you don't make the football you have to, but in the circumstances we competed well."
