Chasetown lose seven-goal thriller, while Hednesford register victory
Chasetown were on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller against 10-man Stalybridge Celtic in the Northern Premier League West Division.
Danny Glover gave Chasetown the lead in the sixth minute from the penalty spot only for Jack Irlam to equalise seven minutes later for the visitors.
In the 32nd minute, Stalybridge had turned it around when Joe Duckworth scored to ensure his side led at the break but he was sent off moments later.
Sam Wilding's smart finish saw the hosts pull level only for Kyle Brownhill to make it 3-2 five minutes later.
Liam Tongue then added a fourth in the 69th minute for Stalybridge and despite a late Joe Buckley strike for Chasetown, they were unable to get back into the game.
Chasetown are 11th in the league table with 25 points from their 15 games.
Hednesford are one place above them thanks to their late 2-1 victory away at Trafford. Jake Jervis finished from close range to give the Pitmen an early 1-0 lead in the 15th minute.
It was not until the 73rd minute that Matty Morgan netted an equaliser for Trafford only for Daniel Trickett-Smith to give Hednesford all three points nine minutes from Town to guide them to their seventh victory of the campaign.
Stafford Rangers' game against Runcorn Linnets was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
In the Midlands Division, Sporting Khalsa smashed Corby Town 4-0 away from home to register their 10th victory from 15 this campaign.
The victory was inspired by Chay Tilt who scored once in the first half and twice in the second to get a hat-trick. Robbie Bunn also got on the scoresheet for Khalsa.
It was a vital win against promotion rivals Corby in front of almost 500 fans at Steel Park. The home side sit in second place in the league table - but now Khalsa trails them by eight points with three games in hand.
The victory put to an end a three-game winless run which had seen them lose to Oxford City in the Isuzu FA Trophy while also falling to back-to-back 1-0 defeats to Boldmere St Michaels and Quorn in the league.
Darlaston Town are just two points behind Sporting and they got a battling 1-1 draw away at league leaders Quorn. Ben Podmore gave Darlaston the lead just 16 minutes into the match only for Mason Frizelle to cancel out his goal 16 minutes from time.
