Wolverhampton races tips - Saturday November 22

It has been a busy week at Wolverhampton Racecourse with the track hosting its third meeting of the week today.

The action gets under way at 4.25pm, with a class six handicap, and will come  to a close four hours later with a class three contest at 8.25pm.

Here are the latest tips and a full preview of the card courtesy of Sporting Life.

The opening contest (4.25) sees a field of 11 head to the stalls for division one of the class six handicap over a mile and 142 yards.

Preference in the opener heads the way of Drifts Away. He was denied in his hat-trick bid last time out at Lingfield, but the winner that day has subsequently scored again so Terry Kent’s runner is taken to get back to winning ways at Wolverhampton.

Race two of the evening is in division two of the same discipline (4.55pm) and four-time course winner Snooze Lane, who was second at this venue 30 days ago, looks the way to go. Last time out winner King Of Speed rates the main danger, scoring at this course just last week and in fine fashion too but is now up in the weights for that success.

An 11-runner novice stakes marks the third race on the card (5.25pm). There’s not a lot of depth in this race, so it could pay to side with Inversion, returning to a shorter trip for the Harry Charlton team and dropping down in grade as well having finished fourth of 10 at Newcastle last time out.

Cuban Lynx appears to be the way to go in race four (5.55pm) in what looks a trappy contest to try and unpick. The Mick Appleby-trained two-year-old was a nowhere near eighth last time out at Chelmsford over a mile, but steps markedly down in trip here to the very short five furlong distance for a shrewd yard that knows what they’re doing.

Flaine has been given a nice draw in stall two and is the selection in race five (6.25pm). A winner at Southwell in November and a very good second of 10 in a Chelmsford nursery when last seen.

Race six (6.55pm) can go the way of recent course and distance scorer Yorkshire, who can make light of a 6lb hike in the weights to follow up this weekend.

A class four handicap over the five furlong sprint trip marks race seven of the evening (7.25pm) and course and distance winner Ziggy’s Missile can bounce back in this lesser grade.

Sun Dancer Girl resumed good progress when scoring at Lingfield 10 days ago, one of three wins this year, and has to be taken seriously in the penultimate race  (7.55pm) as 11 runners tackle the class five handicap over a mile-and-a-half.

The final race (8.25pm) can go to course and distance scorer  King's Code.
