Attacker Diangana was left out of Saturday's 2-2 home draw against Norwich having complained of a tight calf in training on Friday.

The Baggies man will have a scan on Monday and the results will determine whether Diangana can join in with training ahead of Tuesday's trip to high-flying Sunderland.

Diangana was pictured in training on Thursday after not going away on international duty with DR Congo but felt the discomfort on Friday and academy product Harry Whitwell was called into the squad. Whitwell remained an unused substitute.

Corberan revealed after the draw against the Canaries that Diangana, who has been in and out of the starting XI of late, has been managing pain in his ankle and Achilles for some time.

"In the last weeks Grady had some problems with small things, not an injury, but small things," said Corberan.

"He suffered a little bit with the ankle previously, and with the Achilles, and now with the calf. In training on Friday his calf was feeling tight.

"Knowing the period we are going into we are not going to take any risks, especially with a player that could not train yesterday.

"The problem with the calf now needs a scan, tomorrow is Sunday so he cannot have the scan, we need to wait until Monday to see the scan to see if he can train with the group and be involved with the next game or still not."

Diangana and John Swift were battling out to play as Corberan's attacking midfielder in the 'No.10' role this season. Diangana spent a period of the summer injured and then missed some of the early weeks of the campaign with shoulder problems.

In more recent games, Corberan has opted to use two wingers either side of two strikers in Josh Maja and Karlan Grant.
