Some players were sold, while others departed Albion at the end of their contracts.

Most of those players who were out of contract have gone on to sign for other clubs. However, there are handful who, months later, still remain without a contract and a club.

Here is a look at some of those who departed who are still waiting for their next move.

Erik Pieters

Pieters became a fan favourite at Albion, despite signing as a free agent reportedly because he lived near Steve Bruce.

The former Stoke and Burnley left back was an unsung hero for Bruce's replacement, Carlos Corberan.

Despite coming in to the club essentially as cover at the age of 34, he played 36 times in the first season and was a regular at centre back, while turning out 25 times last season after earning a new deal.

It was inevitable he would leave this summer, but he left with best wishes after doing a solid job for Albion in his two years.

Earlier this summer it looked as though he would remain in the Championship, having been taken on a brief trial at Luton Town.

However, nothing materialised with The Hatters and to date Pieters is still without a new club.

Despite being 36, the left back turned centre half has shown he can still mix it certainly in the Championship, so it is surprising no one has given the Dutchman at least a one year deal.

Martin Kelly

The defender who had such promise earlier in his career, is still looking for his next move at the age of 34.

Kelly broke through at Liverpool and earned a solitary England cap before going on to feature over 120 times for Crystal Palace.

But injuries stunted his progress at Palace and after becoming a free agent, he signed for Albion in 2022.

He made just five appearances before going out on loan to Wigan, where he picked up a serious injury in his first game and never featured again.

Kelly, who was well liked at Albion for his character, was unsurprisingly released in the summer and remains without a club.

There were reports back in the summer that he was training with League Two Salford City, as he looked to get another deal.

But nothing has materialised. It has also been suggested Kelly may be going into coaching, but as it stands he remains without a club.

Adam Reach

Another who was unsurprisingly released in the summer.

For his three years at Albion, Reach was targeted by some fans but although he didn't light the world up he was largely solid, and also loved by his manager.

In total he played 78 times over three seasons, although was never really considered a regular.

Given how much his versatility was admired by Albion's coaching staff, some predicted he may get another year.

But he was let go and still remains without a club, which is a surprise given his age, 31, and the fact he has spent most of his career in the Championship.

He did go on trial at Swansea City earlier in the season but according to reports, that came to nothing.

Some of Albion's youngsters were also let go and remain without a club:
