Wolves and their Premier League rivals will already be preparing their business plans to improve their squads in the New Year ahead of the second stage of the  season.

Although Wolves were able to improve their squad depth for this campaign, there are still some areas they could address when the window opens.

Centre-back

After failing to replace Max Kilman and then losing Yerson Mosquera to a serious knee injury, Wolves will be targeting a centre-back in January.

This position will be Wolves' priority and could be the only target of the winter window, as they look to address their defender shortage with only three senior centre-backs currently available.

Gary O'Neil will want some Premier League experience and, ideally, someone who could come straight into the starting XI and help Wolves with their concerns over conceding goals and their weakness at set pieces.

Craig Dawson has had a strong season, Toti Gomes has improved in recent weeks and Santi Bueno has done well since coming into the team, but Wolves need a proven centre-back to help them move away from relegation danger.
