How Walsall's eight summer departees have fared this season
Walsall saw eight players head for the exit door in the summer and here is a round-up of how each of them have fared this season.
Isaac Hutchinson
Hutchinson stepped up to League One with Bristol Rovers after finishing as Walsall's leading scorer with a personal record 15 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last term.
The 24-year-old has had a mixed time at the Memorial Stadium - scoring twice in the EFL Trophy and once in the league but has also experienced a spell out of the team.
Since then, Hutchinson has started the past two games on the left wing in back-to-back draws against Lincoln City and Crawley Town.
Tom Knowles
Knowles secured a switch to newly-relegated Forest Green Rovers after his contract at Bescot expired in the summer.
He has featured in every game for the National League leaders and scored his first goal in a 3-1 victory over Ebbsfleet United last month.
Owen Evans
Evans returned to Cheltenham Town for his third spell at Whaddon Road after leaving Walsall.
The Welshman has kept just one clean sheet in 11 league games and recently missed four matches due to a shoulder injury although he returned to the bench on the weekend.
Rollin Menayese
Menayese re-joined Aldershot Town in the summer after enjoying a brief spell on loan last term.
The defender has played 10 times for the struggling Shots who're languishing in 18th-place in the National League.
Joe Riley
Riley joined AFC Fylde after Connor Barrett headed in the opposite direction in the summer.
The ex-Manchester United defender has largely thrived at the heart of midfield - scoring once and setting up three more in 17 league appearances.
Jackson Smith
Smith has been unable to break into the Barnsley team since signing a long-term deal at Oakwell in the summer.
He headed to Grimsby on an emergency loan in October and played six times including in a 4-1 home defeat against Walsall.
Joe Foulkes
Foulkes returned to Kidderminster Harriers where he gained promotion to the National League on loan from Walsall in 2023.
The Walsall academy graduate has started 17 times for Harriers and scored his first goal since returning in a 4-0 win over South Shields on Saturday which propelled them into second spot in the National League North.
Aramide Oteh
Oteh has made a flying start to life at The New Saints with seven goals in 13 games across all competitions.
However, the attacker has been unable to feature in their Europa Conference League campaign after signing outside of the summer transfer window.
