Rogers, who was a product of the West Brom youth system, before going on to sign for Man City, Middlesbrough and then Villa in January, has made a big impact at Villa Park since arriving in the Premier League.

Signing for £8m that could rise to £15m, he netted his first goal for Villa in April and this season has scored three times and has registered three assists,.

His performances in a Villa shirt led to an England call-up following a number of withdrawals from the latest England.

He came on as a substitute against Greece and the Republic of Ireland - and his week continues to get better as he agrees a deal to keep him at Villa Park until 2030.

Prior to his call-up for the full side, his manager Unai Emery had been unhappy Rogers was yet to receive a call-up.

Now he is hoping to remain a permanent part of the senior set up with England.

He said: "I loved it. The experience is one that I dreamed of growing up and to be able to live in it, it’s a massive achievement for me,” he said. “I’ve been smiling ear to ear all week and I’m really happy.

“I felt that I’m always ready, whatever opportunity I’m given.

“It was no different this week. I felt I was ready to make that step up and show what I’m about.

“Hopefully I’ve done enough. I’ve got another opportunity when I go back to my club to show what I’m about and hopefully be back here again soon.”
